Is this fixable? Also could it have been something I did, or is it a defect? No crashes, happened on the trainer on Zwift, fresh from the shop about a month ago for a shifting issue (rear derailleur). Bike is about 2.5 years old and everything was normal right up till it happened.

If it’s riveted on a shop would drill out the rivets and replace the hanger.
it’s probably time you start looking at a new frame or a 1x drivetrain i’m afraid
Hopefully you can find a clamp on derailleur hanger to fix that.

Find a nearby carbon fiber workshop, they might be able to add some layers on top with a new hanger.
Consult a carbon repair specialist like Ruckus Composites. https://ruckuscomp.com/
You’ll be lucky to get a single response on this sub from anyone qualified to comment on carbon repair, but as you can already see you’ll get 90% comments from people who:
1. don’t even bother to look closely at the damage
2. Think you can put a clamp on derailleur on a square carbon tube
3. have no fucking clue at all what they are talking about, yet think they can explain to you, a person with zero experience repairing carbon fiber, how to modify your frame for a different style of FD hanger.
I’d probably try to repair it with some epoxy, the broken off bit, and a soda can cut to the same shape for support. What’s missing isn’t a structural bit, but I’d keep it on the trainer for a while before taking it out on the road.
That said, it’ll never be as strong again unless you take it to a carbon shop. They should be able to repair it like new.
Congratulations, you have a 1x bike!
