  1. Your seat is too high. The issue isn’t the seat. The issue is your pelvis rocking on it side to side mashing your bits into it repeatedly. Hence the pain.

    Lower 5mm. Ride. Reasses.

  2. I’ve seen most people have similar reactions to the Selle saddles though it can be very dependent on sit bone spacing. If you’re looking for cushion/padding on a quality saddle you should really be wearing cycling shorts/bibs with that built in.

I had this seat. Got advice about fitment, didnt help.

Got a selle italia gravel slr. No more discomfort. Id get a different seat personally. That one is not comfortable.

  4. There are lots of good threads on the cycling subreddit about bib shorts. (Just google “bib shorts cycling reddit”)

Essentially, you want most of the padding in your bib shorts and not on the seat (for mechanical reasons: so that the padding moves with your skin rather than rubbing against your body)

The saddle might be too wide/too narrow/wrong shape for you, and you might need to figure that out or get a bike fit.

Had this seat for a while and sold it fairly quick. Get rid of it. One thing is the comfort side of things, next one is that this saddle will ruin your bibs/shorts or whatever youre wearing while riding! It is so stiff and will “grind” on your butt/clothes more than any others…

  6. I was the same when I got my Grizl, but I eventually got used to it.

The SQLab saddle on my Ebike that I used daily up until that point now feels too slippery. 😅

I do use padded shorts for the longer rides I do daily, but the commute during the day is done without any special cycling clothes.

  7. I immediately switched saddle to specialized power mimic. You should also measure your sit bones to pick a correct saddle width btw, very important

  8. This saddle comes on almost all canyon because it’s “cheap” but it’s comfort is pretty bad….. i know cuz my ultimate came with it. The saddle material on top is like a thick rubber which just makes it so it grips your shorts…. That means that ur shorts will decay a lil faster. It also sucks if u get out the saddle and back on because u always need to readjust ur shorts because of the grippyness. I’d recommend a saddle with a slick material on top.
I replaced mine with a fizik Argo r5. I know there’s also a lot of people that don’t like fizik but it fits me perfectly.

Had the exact same experience. Terrible saddle, I think for me it was the plastic edge cutting in my meat.

Bought an SLR Boost TM superflow and never had any issues.

  10. I’m 130 lbs, I’ve had the seat on my ultimate since I got it in August, ridden 180 mile weeks with it and never had a problem, I think seats are pretty personal so if it’s uncomfortable then it’s time to switch

  11. Had this saddle on my Grizl. Worst thing ever. Not only it’s extremely uncomfortable, the sticky surface also ruins your bibs and makes it hard to adjust your position. The cherry on the top is that they greenwash it by saying how it’s made from recycled materials, but producing saddle that bad just creates more thrash.

Changed it to the Bontrager Aeolus of the same width (145mm) and it’s night and day difference.
