Right now I have a 199X specialized allez epic. Carbon tubes with aluminum joints, full Shimano 600 spec. I like it fine except it’s really hilly where I live and the geometry and gearing feels super aggressive (39/23 I think?). It also feels like it will fall apart eventually. Will this be a big enough upgrade for it to be worth buying? I’m not a racer or anything I just bike everywhere since I don’t have a car

     I am 6’3, 32 inseam, my specialized is 54cm

     Thanks!

  2. Great deal for what you get! Hope it fits

Gearing is the opposite of aggressive. My guess is this would top out around 20-22mph on flats pedaling 100+ rpm. Would want a bigger set of chain rings to go faster. 50/34 or 52/36 are the most common. Would also need to add links to the chain.

  3. I have a 2013 valence that I bought new and it’s still going strong after 10 years. I upgraded a year or so ago and I still use the valence on my trainer and in winter.
