In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as…

I explore the unique sights of Toulouse! In the previous video, I made the decision to take a detour to Toulouse by train to avoid a thunderstorm. After a day in Narbonne where I couldn’t find a stealth camping spot, I ended up in a Tolouse hotel—and I’m so glad I did! Waking up to a rainy morning, I was grateful to have stayed dry and ready for a day of exploring.

My day started with a local breakfast, which, though smaller than expected, had ham and eggs—enough to fuel the day ahead. Despite the limited options, the food was above average, and I left feeling satisfied. I worked until the evening, then set out for the city center. My first stop was the local Aldi, a budget-friendly supermarket, where I picked up a camembert.

Riding through an industrial area to reach Aldi wasn’t the most scenic, but the weather was warm. After my grocery run, I stumbled across some streets covered in vibrant graffiti and even passed a vendor selling grilled chicken. Though tempted by the street food, I decided to keep moving toward the city center without extra weight to carry.

My next destination was a local park I found on the map, filled with people practicing gymnastic yoga and interesting sculptures like a rusty boat made from a pile of junk. From there, I biked through Toulouse’s city center, full of young, fashion-forward people enjoying restaurants and cafes. The diversity and energy here felt balanced, giving the city a cosmopolitan vibe I hadn’t experienced since Marseille.

One of my highlights was watching a handstand class in the park; seeing people master the skill was truly inspiring.

With rain forecasted, I started my ride back to the hotel. Just as I returned, the first raindrops began to fall. This was my last evening in Toulouse, and next day, I’ll be returning to Narbonne to continue the EuroVelo 8 journey.
