That is the most bizarre accident as there does not seem to be any discernable reason for it to have happened. Maybe you locked up your rear on approach to the corner? It may have been your front who knows. Hope you are mending well.
Really sorry to see this, Steve. You must've been so disappointed to have your trip cut short like that. So annoying to have it happen in the middle of nowhere in Europe, too, after surviving the traffic of Naples, Malta, etc, without a scratch. Hope to see you back in Europe next year.
PS. I called my wife over to the exercise bike when I knew the crash was coming up…

I wonder how many cyclists have missed that right turn on the path? On the video, I thought it went straight. I even did an involuntary “whoa” when I saw it was a ditch just as you turned right
I was hoping to do that ride myself. Unfortunately it coincided with my dog-sitting (his other “parent” was visiting in BC)
I’ll have to try for the next trip. I’d love to do that pathway. If it goes like that to southern Spain I might do the rest of it (or more of it) after the tour.
