I do love cycling, and I love being kitted out, but I’m still trying to be frugal about it! lol
Helmet: Bontrager – bought open-box at REI
Jersey: Cadence – bought 2nd hand whilst volunteering at my local bike co-op
Bibs: Pearl Izumi – bought on sale
Socks: Smart wool all purpose crew socks
Shoes: Louis Garneau, bought open box at REI
Bike: Trek 1000, circa 2006, got from a friend of a friend for a friend price
Bar Tape: Silca. I love the bright orange color, even if it got dirty instantly
Sunglasses: Tifosi. Really good value IMO, because for like $50-60 you get a frame and three change-able lenses …
Cycling cap: Vintage lightweight cotton one I got from the co-op 2nd hand. I love bike caps! Always thought they looked cool. I like it under the helmet to use like a liner to soak up sweat…
Gloves: IDK, they are not my favorite pair. I think I might have gotten these ons off Buy Nothing! lol

We all started about the same. Keep riding.

You really need to fix your handlebars. That’s an injury risk for your wrists.

Haha, I’ve been where you are. I went out thinking, “I’ll never become a MAML!”, UNTIL I started riding with a group and now I am one of them.
Still holding out on riding clipless. I give it another few months before I likely cave.
