


Many of you may know the brand „Tons“, which sells overpriced products, like their bike wall mounts for 110€ – consisting of 2 pieces of wood and 2 3D printed mounting brackets.
So today I decided to make those myself. 30 minutes of Autodesk Fusion, 3 hours of 3D printing, one trip to the local hardware store and about 10€ poorer I got myself some wall mounts. Even added some protection via furniture felt gliders.
Arguably this looks quite clumsy as I didn‘t trust the filament strength and thought I need this massive wood diameter. Still it’s only the first iteration.
(Please don’t roast me for my garage walls, I know these need some paint)

Great idea, but I hope you didn’t print that in PLA or you’re about to have a thousand dollar problem instead of a 110€ problem… ask me how I know.

That thing takes up the room of 5 bikes hanging on my 18 bike, $2500 wall to wall rack. I don’t see the benefit??!
i’d add something at the end of the wooden rods so that the bike does not accidentally slide out place (clearly, you don’t have kids, LOL)

I did a similar thing, but used utility hooks. My bike hangs vertically, though, but still parallel to the wall. I’m too lazy to upload a picture
Legit question: aren’t you worried that hanging the bike from the tube puts too much stress in there? Carbon frames are notoriously fragile at the places where they aren’t supposed to withstand any weight. Factor even issued a disclaimer warning owners against sitting on the frame rather than the tube.
