Just replaced the valve core cuz I thought that’s why it was leaking, and added fresh sealant. It’s still leaking and clearly from the valve. Should I just try to tighten it more or is the valve itself bad?

Tighten it a bit, but only by hand. If it’s still leaking, then you’ll need to remove the tire and likely redo the tubeless tape.
