I genuinely hadn’t realised that I’d never really gone MTBing or gravel riding alone before until I found myself doing just that.

I think that's called off-roading not MTN biking, but Colorado u.s. Is much mountainous in comparison
Well done on doing some proper cycling. A full susser would've been more comfortable btw. Will try this cute little route with my wife next time we visit Devon – right up her street. More off-road cycling please π
Kitiara, great video, great location, glad you enjoyed some good weather. Maybe one day you can do a bike post ride cleaning video? Keep it up, best wishes from Gibraltar.π
Always enjoy your videos as they're honest and interesting. I find your narration quite soothing as your voice and accent are lovely. (Ever consider doing "voice acting"? You should. I don't do audio books, but I know they're hugely popular and I'd listen to you reading something to me!) As to the riding, that place looks beautiful. I'm sure you've heard the recent "bear vs man" discussion that went viral? Obviously THAT kind of safety would be a concern for you, and good on ya for pushing through that concern and getting out there on your own. As to the "crash safety" aspect, my brother (that also cycles like you/I do) reminded me to be sure and have my phone with me when I mountain bike on my own. Not a month later I had a significant crash and broke my femur while up in the hills around Perth (Oz, not Scotland) and boy was I glad I had it with me as it was a long time before someone else came along. With a new "dynamic hip screw and plate", I'm back out riding 2 mos later. Keep doing great videos, and take care of yourself.
Nice video π
What's the UV index like there for summer? Here it gets to 11, and I read recently that 80-90% of aged skin appearance is due to sun exposure. I plan to never let the sun touch my skin again. There was another travel guy on TV named Dave Attel and he just went out and did stuff at night. That's how I'm going to be. Do you know what type skin you are on the Fitzpatrick sunburn scales? Very cool ride, do you get the same protective happiness from this more muscular plodding off road rides than spinning on a nice road surface like Tron? I have done those gravel type rides and they can be depressing.
