I’ve been seriously riding mountain bikes for about 3.5 years (former bmx kid) and felt like I’ve plateau’d in the last year in terms of speed. I’ve been sitting at a Mid-Upper pack in DH CAT 1 and feel like my speed hasn’t gone up. It seems some segments I’ve improved my times, and others are the same.
I’m fairly fit and I ride 25+ bike park days a year. I do corner drills very occasionally, but trying to improve upon that.
How have some of you gotten up to the next level? I would like to get to a point where I can contest the occasional podium isn’t he amateur/CAT 1 races. Any general advice?

Ride with faster riders and chase them down the trail. This has made me a much faster rider.
I mean, what do you feel is holding you back from riding faster?
Could be cornering, brake control, strength, endurance, courage, etc. Realistically, probably all of the above in some combination.
At your level, not weight training seriously would be a huge miss.
And if you’re really not sure where you’re falling short, find faster riders to go out with.
Yeah watching you vs elite riders, the elite guys look like they’ve got limitless power and stamina. I think that other commenter is right- more stronk would help
