Hi all,
I plan to change the housing of this cable since its not possible to shift gear leaving it like this.
But since my MTB have internal cable system. I find it very problematic to remove the old cable and wire it back in, so is there anyway I can just replace this part of the housing?
And can you rate the difficulty of this problem. If it is hard to perform i might just bring it to a bike mechanic
Thank you

  1. If you’re not comfortable with internal cables, I’d just take it to a bike shop. looks like you need a new cable anyways, it’s pretty short now, and when you cut the end off to take off the housing, it’s gonna be even shorter when you reinstall it.

But I’d replace the cable regardless if that housing is in that kind of shape.

It’s possible but why bother? It just takes a litte bit of time to figure it out this time but when it happens next time you’ll be able to do it and it will be a lot quicker.

    no but it is easy.

Buy a Liner, cut the cable and remove the housing. slide the Liner over the cable, remove the cable, Insert New cable and be Happy.
