  1. The big ring is extremely worn. Look at the profile compared to the other two.

    There is evidence of ‘chain stretch’ on the big ring, the gap between the teeth looks oval. This means if you don’t replace it, the chain and the cassette it will need changing again very shortly.

  2. They visually appear worn. Both the big ring and the middle which shows the classic shark tooth shape.

    You will want a new chain at the same time.

    As for the rear gears, be prepared to replace those too. There’s a chance you won’t have to but it’s a small chance. If nothing has ever been changed before and the front is worn like that the rear is also likely to be done. You will know right away when you replace the chain because it will skip.
