For the longest time, I wanted to do a take on “The Vicious Cycle” with my newer animation style, and Smash Bros. was one of my ideas. but the thing is, when I first thought of it, I had no idea how the Inklings were gonna work at the time.
That said, the idea was after Smash Ultimate’s initial reveal, but before its showcase at E3, and afterwards, once I revisited the idea, since the Inklings do use the roller in their moveset, it was a done deal.
Seriously though, granted the animation is supposed to be frantic, this is the most diversity with models I’ve ever worked with. It’s not often that I animate some of these either, especially the Inkling Girl. I still think I did okay though, especially for a first time. All and all I had fun with it.
Lastly in case you’re wondering why Cloud is using his blocky PS1 model, it’s because for some ungodly reason, the Smash 4 model of Cloud is not on the GMod workshop, which I’m flabbergasted by because at the time of this video it’s SFM only, but porting it to GMod really shouldn’t be a problem.
