I got a 29er esker Hayduke this year and love it. So far I've only used it on short single track day trips and as my commuter. I'd like to spend a few nights out on the trail but don't know where to start gear-wise.

Does anyone know what rear rack and frame bag models/brands would be compatible with the Hayduke? I hope to commute with it still and would like a rack that can also hold panniers.

Or does anyone have any advice as to how I can find out if a rack would work with my bike? So far I've only been at this list on bikepacking

Cheers

  1. The bikepacking.com list is pretty thorough. You have upper and lower mounts on that frame, so might as well pick a rack that uses them. The Tumbleweed racks are very good. Protostudia looks interesting, but I haven’t tried one of theirs yet.

For a frame bag, I would get a custom one that fits perfectly. Rockgeist is my go-to.

  2. Frame bag wise most manufacturers have either a web tool, or printable templates to gauge fit. Of course custom is going to use the most of your triangle unless you get lucky..

I’ve used both an old man mountain rack and a tumbleweed rack, as well as any number of those Blackburn ones.

I’ve swapped to mostly using my tumbleweed rack because it’s a bit lighter and doesn’t block my water bottle mounts on the rear triangle.

Long story short any rack that fits on a 29er should fit on your bike.
