I purchased a Trek FX Sport 5 recently. The bike is beautiful and rides like a dream but today when I was cleaning the frame I noticed it had a crack. I’m not sure if it’s structural or not but I did not hit anything with the bike. I did take a couple small jumps off the sidewalk but I can’t figure out when it happened or how.
It’s on the bottom of the rear triangle but I don’t believe that is a stress point for the bike. It’s my first carbon bike from Trek although I’ve had a bunch of aluminum versions 2019 Fx2 2021 fx3 and now the fx sport 5.
I’m going to take it to a trek dealer tomorrow but because of my anxiety I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
If they don’t cover it how much would it cost to repair and is it even worth it?
Will it be structurally sound if it gets repaired?

This does not look like carbon failure but rather damage from some sort of impact or landing on the bike in an awkward position. Hard to say if Trek will cover it based on the photos.
Repair is an option but the strength and longevity of any fix is going to be down to the skill of the person who repairs it.
advice: take it into the trek store
