I’m running a RD-RX400 rear derailleur with 2x (44-28) and a 11-40 cassette. It’s out of spec but is running great with no other modifications. I’m thinking to switch to 11-42, my understanding is that 42 would be 8mm larger (diameter) of this 40, so I would end with 4mm less clearance in this area. Will this be feasible? Thanks

I’m running an 11-42 with this same derailleur but I had to replace the b adjustment screw with a longer one to do so. The thread is M4 with 0.7mm pitch, I ordered a 22mm socket cap screw and it works. Apparently not everyone has needed to do this and has been able to run the bigger cassette with the stock limit screw, suggesting that either it depends on the derailleur hanger or the RX400 ships with two types of limit screw.
