I recently did a tubeless setup, and don't have any leaks anywhere else, but do notice that some sealant comes through the end of the core before pumping my tires. Is that bad? And can it gunk up my pump?
Is it normal for some tubeless sealant to come through and out the valve core?

Not normal. Replace the valve core. They are super cheap.
Yep normal. Get the stem at 3 or 9 o’clock. Then pump.
Yes, especially when you have your valve pointed down like that.
Buy some valve cores and a valve core tool. The cores will get clogged and are a pain to clean out. Changing them takes about 2 minutes.
The valve lets what is inside of your tire, out. If you have sealant in your tire, the valve can let it out…

Yep, why not, the sealant sits in your tires and the valve comes out in the tire, why is this even a question?
Whenever you put air in your tires make sure the valve core is not at the bottom of the tire. This reduces the amount of sealant that can get into the core.
Not sure if they work on road setups but I’m 100% converted to Santa Cruz new valves. $25 bucks a valve is worth it to not have your shit clog up every six months IMO. Also way easier to inflate but that’s less important on a road tire I think.

When inflating the tires keep the valve stem above the center of the wheel (8 o’clock). That way, the sealant is not pooled just below the valve. Same thing with parking your bike.
