Not worth it imo if you ride hard enough to do that already. May not even be possible with how bent that is

  2. I’m all for fixing before replacing, but damn bro, that’s not just a ding. That’s a dong as well

  3. I wouldn’t use heat, but I’d give it a crack at beating it. Use some spanners, hammers and some bits of wood. Like worst case scenario you can’t fix it an you’re no better off. But I’ve got pretty much zero disposable income at the moment and do what I can to avoid replacing shit and just get out and huck

  4. I actually already bought a wheel but only to find out I need hg hub after I put the cassette out. Now I need to wait until after thanksgiving. Glad I don’t have any biking trip planned but still annoying.

This rim is trash. Even if you manage to straighten out the side of the rim it will never be round and spoke tension will be all over the place. Just replace it.

  6. new rim anyways. Rim swaps are not that hard. I usually buy new nipples just so I don’t have to deal with rounded off one. That rim has a huge flat spot in it now too, it isn’t just the side wall. You wouldn’t be able to make it round again.

is the hub worth saving? How did you do this?

  7. Just replace the rim keep spokes etc. you can prob do it yourself. If you haven’t built a wheel, this is a good opportunity to learn
