Hopefully the driver is facing manslaughter charges.
I feel like about a decade in prison is appropriate here.

Well the good news is that a BMW driver in the Bay Area is probably rich.
Hopefully the deceased’s family can sue the driver into oblivion. The driver won’t need money anyway while they’re in jail for vehicular manslaughter, ideally a lengthy sentence.
