It's better for the environment, it's healthy, it's infinitely cheaper than using a car and if you live in a city, usually faster. It's also more convenient because you can park right outside your destination.
I live in London and wound up selling my car because I didn't use it.
Sadly, I've been ill for a while and put on a lot of weight so my ridiculously expensive bike only got a few months action before I had to hang it up so I don't damage it. I bought another cheap bike a couple of years ago. I've never used it but I'm converting it to electric pedal assistance so I can ease back into it, lose the weight and get back onto my cool bike.
I cycle to work the odd day in summer Lurgan to Lisburn 13.5 miles ish and am considering getting a belt drive bike to cycle over winter with mud guards as you know how the weather is here lol 🌧️🌧️
