    I think it’s probably time for a new spindle. Threads lock together by each item’s thread putting sideload pressure on the other item’s thread. They’re thin slithers of metal and eventually they will get fatigued and shear off, especially if they’ve been overtightened in the past.

    You can try cleaning out the burr from the thread channels so you can wind the bolt in again, but then you’re riding with less thereads holding the spindle bolt, and the likelihood is that all of these threads have been stressed the same, and will just keep shearing off.

    Personally I’d replace at this point.
