I have a vintage motobecane grand touring bike that I recently dug out of my dads shed
I need a seat for it and I’ve gone through 3 different kinds and none fit. I’m starting to think I’m missing a piece for the bike or maybe a piece of my brain lol.
Can someone help me out with this? I just wanna ride 😭

Your seat post is missing several parts. You will probably need a new one
You appear to have about 1/3 of the seatpost clamp. Unless you want a restoration project, you’re going to replace the seatpost. Roll it into a bike shop, they’ll slot in one for about $30.
You can order one online (also $30) but decent chance to get the size wrong – there are several flavors.
Take it to a bike shop. It’s what they’re for.
