I think chain tightness is a preference thing. I hate my chain slapping against my frame or always making noise.. i keep it a bit tighter as in the video. But not to tight, that if i should miss a grind or slam my peg, it has some play. But i know people running super tight chains or super loose chains. Depends on if you want crankflips for example.

But how to tighten: loosen rear wheel and pull it back. Then tighten again. Lots of videos and tricks on YouTube.

  2. Looks like you had integrated chain tensioners in the drop outs of your frame. They should take a small Allen key, usually a 2mm. Loosen your wheel, tighten the chain tensioners on both sides evenly until your wheel is straight and your chain is at the tightnesss you’d like, tighten your wheel back up, then lastly tighten the chain tensioners in again if there’s any remaining space so your wheel doesn’t shift from grinds. Your chain will also naturally stretch as you break it in so you’re gonna have to do this every now and then when it gets loose.

  3. It depends on how you like it, if you feel like its too loose you can get a simple bolt style chain tensioner and get a halflink chain for making it easier to tension and more precise

  4. I’d say no that chain is not loose. Kick a crank backwards and if it spins freely and make sure the chain is not so loose that it’s gonna slap the stay when you jump you’re good

  5. just want to encourage you to seek help from people riding nearby or any people you know who may know how to help you with this in person. have fun!
