Just had the first ride on my Grizl, I heard a lot of complaints about the saddle so I bought a fizik agro x3 before I got the bike but I must say I don’t find the original saddle too bad! Does anyone know what this thing is right above the crank?

„Thing above crank” you can mount front derailleur here.
Default grizl saddle for me works wonderfully. Did couple of long distance races with it- fits my butt perfect.

Congrats! It is a lovely bike! The „thing“ is For mounting a Front derailleur. You can take it off or just leave it alone.
What a beauty
Mine looks quite busy and seeing it just as it is is quite nice.
From a comfort point of view, I have no issues with the stock saddle that they put on a lot of their road/gravel bikes. It absolutely destroyed one of my bibs, so I had to change it out.
If I wore shorts instead of Lycra I’d probably keep the saddle
