Yeah you’re definitely doing an “English” hop. Try rocking your hips back to get the front wheel up. Then it’s sort of pushing forward on the bars to bring the back wheel up.

  2. Yeah you obviously have the strength and ability, just gotta work on technique. You want to throw your body weight back over the rear wheel, bend the knees, pull up on the handlebars like doing a manual, then you jump and pull up. Hope that helps. I’m sure you can find some great videos too. Keep shredding.

Notice your body moving upwards at once. The front then back motion is there for a reason. All of your pop comes from the first step, pulling your bars to your hips. As a trick, pull your bars to your waist and stiffen like a pencil and make your bike as vertical as you can when you do step one. Make sure to preload and explode. Your back wheel should come off the ground. This is the main part of the hop. From there push the bars forward to even out when you are comfortable.

  4. act like you are going to tuck your knees under your arm pits. let the force allow your bike to lift and “catch up” with your body.

It helps if you practice a small manual before your hop. Manual for a couple inches then hop. It will get you used to being behind the seat when you pull up and force you to push forward which is where your power comes from. You’re doing good, it just takes time to get used to. However I’ve seen many people start this bad habit of hopping both wheels at the same time and it is really hard to break out of, then causes issues when you move to transitions or jumps.

  6. Lean back and push off that back tire. Giving yourself thing to jump over and clear helped me alot

  7. You’ll learn to change your form as you actually use your hop. For example, if you case a lot of curb, you’ll start to naturally lift more from the rear to counter it. Failure is the best teacher.

  8. You gotta stop pulling both wheels up at the same time. You’ll get waayyy more hight by pulling up the front first then pulling the back wheel up to the front wheels hieght. Pretty much however high you can pull up the front wheel is how high you can bunny hop (ish)
