Been riding for 20 years… received my first broken bone of my life this season..
I usually don't have much of a issue hitting black runs with the reg crew but been riding with my son (9 years old) for the last 2 seasons at his pace, back of the pack, teaching him the ways.. we were at SunPeaks BC having a great time hitting all the Blue runs, the more experienced riders decided to branch off for the 2nd last run of the day to hit a Black (Super Nugget), then meet up at the bottom and end off on a nice Blue… well I end up wayyyy over shooting the 3rd jump in and foot stomping the ground… resulting in 1 dislocation, a fracture, and a complete break of the 1st and 2nd metatarsal bones.. emergency surgery and 2 plates after, I'm recovering great and almost have had no pain.. but I'm coming to grips that maybe I should just stick to the blues now cuz I don't bounce anymore, I just break lol

Some of us don’t have an end to the season 🤷🏼
But that will make for a 6 week break for sure
DUDE! NSFW! WTF??!??
I’d say that was painful
Whoa! Hope you have a full recovery!
Hey they put a bike chain in your foot, that’s sweet
That looks painful.
I’m not a Dr but that doesn’t look ideal. Heal up quick!
Oh fuck
Foot: I’ve got a bone to pick with ya!
Hope it heals up good as new.
Cheese and rice. Glad you’ll be ok. Shame your son has to see that though.
That looks like it hurts…
Damn! It’s allways the last ride of the year!
What kind of shoes were you wearing?
I have worked in surgery for years and have never seen a break like this. It’s pretty unique!
Emergency surgery? Did you also see vascular? Hope all ends well friend.
Yikes!! Damn dude, get better quick!
Dude, thanks for sharing! Been a physician for 10 years with many different positions and have never seen that. That dislocated metatarsal is definitely something. Didn’t think I‘d learn sth on Reddit today 😅
Get well soon!
I’m sorry for your foot.
That lump on the foot looks super gnarly!
How on earth did you fight the pain of that long enough to get your phone out and take a picture?!?!?!
It’s definitely fun. I had a lis franc injury in August. I had 4 broken bones and multiple torn ligaments. Took a couple months to be able to mountain bike again but I still can’t run long distances. I get my plates out at the end of the year which I’m looking forward too. I would suggest to just get some beefier shoes. fiveten impact pros are crazy beefy and great for previously broken feet.
That took some serious force to fracture in that manner, nice work.
Nice break that like. Must admit.
Feel better catch you next season
Yeah something isn’t quite right.
Fuuuuuuuuuck
Lisfranc injuries are a bitch! Good luck!
That’s 1 way to end the season
Oh man soooo sorry to hear. So gnarly! Welcome to r/lisfrancclub
Hooooly shit ouch. Such a small leverage area to see such a distorted broken bone. Glad you’re on the route to recovery already.
How’s the boy feeling with all that as well? I know some of the injuries I either witnessed or caused (yeah played too rough sometimes 😅) left their little marks on me, especially if it was seeing adults injured at that young age.
