This is the latest addition to my collection. I bought it from a bike co-op and felt like I got a decent price given the condition and components.
I can’t figure out what year it is though! I believe it’s either an 83 or 84. The internal cable routing and inexternal brazing points me towards an 84, but the catalog I’ve seen states that an 84 should have Columbus tubing. This one has Vitus 888 frame tubing AND a fully chromed Vitus 888 fork. I haven’t seen that fork on any of the Grand models after looking through catalogs. The other oddity is the wheel set – they are Mavic 700c. I’m pretty sure they’ve been swapped out, but other than that, I believe most of the other components are stock. Let me know what you think and if you can give me any insights or info on the year.

Must be ’84. Up to 1983 MBK made them lugged, in 1984 they moved to inexternal brazing and in ’85 grand jubilee model was dropped.
If it helps that is a 3rd gen Campagnolo 980 RD

Does anyone know if is possible to separate the hood section of the grips? I need to adjust the position of the brake levers, but the hoods appear to be joined to the grips. I think they’re a gum material or something similar
