Cycle Peak Hill, Devon, England UK

This is my daily ride, up and down Peak Hill near where I live in East Devon, in all weathers, throughout the year.

Spectacular views at the top, and the ride lasts as long as the average podcast. Sometimes the road is really muddy, often flooded, always pot-holed, and often busy. I enjoy riding it at night when there’s very little traffic.

The music is fairly random. Everything, drums, sax, bass and keyboard, are recorded, in that order, first take, without any edits. I experimented with playing the alto sax through an octave shifter and I really like the results; it sounds more natural than I thought it would. I guess I’ll call the track, “It’s all Downhill from Here”.
