Looks like walking not cycling to me.
He might be German. Its the norm there. Pedestrians and cyclists barely even look such is the confidence they have in the drivers. The uk should adopt laying white lines as a continuation of the pavement.
He could have safely walked to the centre line without any issues if the taxi hadn't cut about 6 feet off and gone round on the wrong side of the road.
How was nothing said about the taxi driver cutting across the junction?
Not that it changes the message much, but i think they may have been walking.
I respectfully disagree here on a couple of things in the clip although wholeheartedly agree with priority being given and not taken and the taxi driver should’ve stopped
The things I disagree with are
– The viewer appears to be walking and not cycling (difficult to tell for sure looking at the reflection) Edit: Having seen the full video, the viewer is cycling and I stand corrected
– The driver of the taxi turned way too early into that junction and cut a huge chunk off the corner which made it closer than it should’ve been
Things that I do agree with
– Your viewer should wait to make sure drivers are yielding and not going to carry on regardless
While this is possibly a phishing clip if this is a notorious junction where drivers do not yield for whatever reason, but I suspect more than likely this was a general clip where the viewer honestly believes they have done nothing wrong. I would say <5% phishing, ~40% the viewer forcing priority and ~60% poor driving. Why would anyone force priority like this I hear you ask? I used to in my younger years when being a pedestrian…and that ladies and gentlefolk, is a story for another day
There’s no bikes in this clip. Just somebody walking casually.
Not clear if the cyclist noticed the taxi. I would gladly wait if i was a pedestrian, never mind cycling, after looking around, for the taxi to make its manoevre.

Should car drivers be "waiting to be given priority" at a junction when continuing along a major road?
I'm all for keeping a lookout as a pedestrian and abandoning an attempt to cross the road but I shouldn't need to come to a complete halt, contrary to the intentions of the rule changes.
The problem is that some of those who have the most to learn are also the most reluctant to accept education. The Dunning & Kruger effect.

As others have said. And you might well know for certain, but looked like a pedestrian to me. And it might be making a comment about the new rules of priority. If you know you have priority and are a pedestrian, you might not pay as much attention as you should. But then you are a pedestrian and maybe have never been behind the wheel of a car in your life.
I can’t believe that people actually commented thinking this was a pedestrian. Even without showing the full clip you can tell it’s a cyclist by the movement of the camera 🤦🏼♂️
I love the fact that the full video was uploaded after so many people were saying this person was walking – It's quite sad that I could have seen they were riding a bike because of how shaky they are – during the part they were riding along the road and then onto the path where the head tilts side to side – unless you're feeling in an extra silly mood, that's not normal walking

I experienced the same in UK health care services. UK is suffering definitely some lack of granmas advice, most 1 St and third world countries have less easy acess to A&E services and still cope. Most advanced armies have some kind of trained" medic" on the front and here the public has not even the most basic fist aid skills.
Many times I've witnessed cab drivers speed up and cut corners just for the opportunity to beep peds and cyclists who otherwise would have been able to safely start crossing.
Both are in the wrong here. Cab massively cuts, cyclist on pavement, and tries to take priority. Although I wonder if it was an awareness thing, i.e. you don't expect a vehicle to appear on completely the wrong side of the road when they were the ones with full forward visibility of you in the run up to the incident, not the other way around.
it's obviously a helmet mounted camera, so it provides clear evidence the cammer did absolutely NOTHING related to self preservation. barely a glance to the right as he approached the junction, and not even a glance to the left. as much as the taxi may have been in the wrong, the cyclist is doing the equivalent of driving with black bags over the mirrors.
He should not have been riding on the pavement
I did a cpc last week cyclists pedistrains have more right away on the roads than vehicles in that situation the taxi should of waited and priority for cyclists is now GIVEN mate you have to give it
