  1. Thank you for the clarification on the situation. I am a regular visitor to Bucharest and an experienced cyclist. I have cycled in many cities and countries and I still resist using a bicycle in Bucharest. Not only because of the lack of cycling infrastructure and road condition but mainly the lack of awareness and car driver discipline. There is little regard for cyclist safety by drivers. This is a growing problem as home delivery services are increasing significantly. Being unable to cycle and resisting driving I walk a lot. The pavements and sidewalks too are challenging. Again not only due the lack of maintenance of the pavements but perhaps more significantly is the use of part of the pavement for road side parking by motorists. It’s actually toxic how parked cars eliminate the use of the sidewalks and seem to be left to do so by the authorities. Is parking of cars on pavements outside designated positions “permitted” or is it simply tolerated ? I don’t see why old people and mothers with babies, children for example should have to walk in the road to carry out their daily routine simply to accommodate parked cars. Thanks again for all the info
