For 2024 and beyond, Van Rysel has partnered with French world tour team, AG2R-Decathlon and is providing the road bikes for the professionals to ride. These road bikes have been winning races at the highest level and this has started to raise some eyebrows. These bikes are some of the most affordable bikes in the pro-peloton so there are big questions being asked about what it means to have a bike with a race winning pedigree. In this video Sam Gupta takes the Van Rysel RCR and explores what Van Rysel’s place in the market means for the entire cycling industry and more importantly, what it means for the consumers.

This video was created in partnership with Van Rysel / Decathlon. AD.

  1. hahahaha, been riding a Van Rysel gravel for 3 years, 9 days out of 10, 3-5 hrs a day and it's been epic and faultless but the best bit has been that the lycra weekend warriors on their 20k bikes have just looked down their noses at me and left me alone….. lately, more and more want to stop and chat since the successes, so i enjoy telling them that i paid £850 second hand

  2. "only" 9 grand? Ridiculous. Nothing in a bicycle is ever worth that much. From a bike mechanic and an engineer. I've built pinarellos, S-Works, ect. I've seen not a single part of them justify even half their price tag. Wake up and keep your wallet heavy. Your bike will still be light enough.

  3. I go for a 1200€ bike at ROSE Bikes and will put some 1000€ wheels on it. ROSE wheels then sell as new at Ebay for 500€. Fast as hell and light too. What should go wrong with it?

  4. Sorry, £9000 bike is going to change what? For that price any bike company should be able to make a "high-performance" bike. What have you been smoking dude? 😕

  5. ‘Bikes are expensive and will continue to be so’………..only if the manufacturers make bikes with components using rare materials and saving us all 50g….99% of cyclists don’t need it, but we are daft enough to fall for the hype.

  6. I bought this exact bike – its stunning, love the minimal design and tyres and I'm just an average weekend warrior. Picked it up for £4700 with power metre and Di2 SRAM – Amazing all round bike

  7. Very misleading claim. I always buy parts separately, beat this offer at least twice. I paid only 999B Pound for new on the market, first really proper carbon frame – Scott Addict, same 999BP for first edition ( 2019 ) SRAM eTap, same price R-SYS wheelset, 200BP for Speedplay Zero pedals, something about 300BP (can't really remember) for Campy SR crankset. Whole bike weight 5.6kg – 1.2 kilo below peloton's limit.

  8. Doesn’t want to break the bank the bank at 9,000 euros! Cycling Weekly no longer a review site just an apologist for a ridiculously overpriced industry. My 2013 Specialized Roubaix SL4 is probably worth next to nothing but still rides beautifully thanks. And yes Dura Ace brakes on it absolutely fine and no need to bleed discs and stuff around with integrated stems.

  9. Naa, I won’t even look at this brand. I have been riding pinarello dogma for 12 years and F12 for 3 years and I don’t need any other bike. Pinarello fits me and it is an owesome bike. If you have a brand that fits you stick with it. No need to be looking for anything else. Like my sidi shoes, I have been wearing sidi for 18+ years. If it works why change 😊

  10. Not such thing as affordable bikes anymore ,nearly every bike shown is over 2 grand , every advert is a expensive bike ,no wonder the bike industry is in the mud ,Sunday riders think there are on the tour , it’s your fitness ,legs and stamina that count
