      Use automotive clear paint protection film (from 3M etc.) and cut it to fit the top tube, chain stays, down tube etc. It lasts for years on a vehicle and will do the same on your bikes, and if worn or damaged can be replaced easily. I've been doing just that for years and no-one can even tell it's there.

      Use painters tape if you cannot use electrical or helicopter tape for frame protection. And for more food what about food/feed/bottle bags or no bike bag but a musette?

      I have a Route Werks handlebar bag which is excellent for everything I need on my adventures on the bike paths/rail to trails that cover my state. It opens backwards so it can be accessed while riding like a proper randonneur bag. Silca also just released a 2-5 liter saddle bag which could be very useful and aero. Lastly if it touches your frame use a layer of helicopter tape from 3M.

      Also from Scotland, Camelchops make incredibly good bike bags. I got a frame bag from them and they made it to measure based on the length of my bike's top tube.

      I use 1/2 frame bags on my XC, road & gravel and don't lose any sleep whatsoever about 'marks' etc, just use helicopter tape.

      Canyon (I think you refer to the Grail) does not come with the frame bag: it's an extra. Canyon makes fitted frame bags for the Grizl and Endurace too.

      I have one kisluxbag bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze…

      Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etcā€¦
