I totally agree on the zoning; I rent a room in my friend's house & I had every intention to turn it into a small studio & I did & It works really well. I think her apartment is beautifully done but I would have to have a comfortable chair to lounge & hang out in.

My home is totally zoned. Even varying heights of decor can zone off an area. So do chairs or rugs. But rugs in a small area can make it feel smaller.
No concrete bust right in the cooking-elbow-knock-over zone😮
And the dark color of the fireplace perfectly articulates the spaces. I like a lot this layout and design!
