🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ Just get a car if you want everything easy, overpriced & automated…Companies & governments introduced processed foods saying we are too busy & advanced to cook when whole food was never broken and its by far much superior to processed junk…Now we got bikes sold for $5000+ mainly due to sleek looks but fundamentally they offer nothing new.
My 40 year old bianchi with downtube shifters will still shift perfect 40 years from now. Will we be able to say that about any of these electronic gadgets?
One day someone’s gonna be riding a 100% electric bike, electric shifters and brakes, suspension, lights and everything, and when the bike dies, because everything is electric, what happens? Say you’re far away from home or the car, and your bike dies, no regenerative breaking, no way to charge on the go. So obviously you could slow the bike down simply by steer controlling the bike to a stop, but not only do you have no brakes, but no gears, no suspension, likely no lights, so if you don’t have a backup option / battery, you’re SOL. Whereas mechanical shifters and brakes, (so long as properly maintained and even when not properly maintained to a certain extent) will imo forever outperform something that will likely shut down or simply fail (resulting in a costly replacement) in even a little too much rain. New school (though old technology) is a belt drive system paired with a gearbox, it is mostly sealed from elements, tried and true (I mean they work for cars) and nearly infinitely more durable and reliable in most cases…maybe that’s exaggerated, but I mean come on, other than the price of a gearbox setup, it baffles me how we have not yet come to the realization of how much better belt drives are to chain drives. Thats why I say infinitely better, less maintenance, less moving parts, less hassle and stressing about oiling the chain and watching for chain stretch, more fun riding. Plus the longevity alone of a belt system will forever be superior imo, the maybe 10000km you get on a chain is usually only when ridden in perfect conditions and properly maintained (cleaned after each ride) otherwise you can expect anywhere from 4-6000km per chain, although some who really take care of their chains, have reported around 20000km per chain. whereas a belt drive can get dirty and dusty and only when super dirty or improperly tensioned, will it slip and stop working, also the 100,000km reported by some users of belt drive systems proves a literal tenfold increase of durability / longevity. No hate, no argument here, just sharing my opinion / experience.

Old school 🔛🔝
don't tell me that this is called "105". I literally thought all my live taht its 10S as 10 Speed… As well as 11S and 12S … Please spare me
Morons, on real bikes we had two gears: one for the flat and one for the climbs, all we had to do was flipping the rear wheel…

i use 8 speed non-claris sti shifter on bianchi brava. it works fantastic. Mech groupset is working on 2100 i guess but electronics maybe 8 -10 year.
Old school all day
Don’t get me wrong. I come from the old school but this way I make bikes nowadays it’s pretty cool.
But the real old school is the switch on a frame…
Time have stop for ME, OLD SCHOOL ALL THE WAY
So i have old old school
And when the battery dies???? 😂
I haven’t had to charge my shifter since 2010.
Di2 is actually more $$$ than a use auto transmission. Same concept
What do you mean old school 😭😭😭
I choose to be straight and use mechanical😂
Love the sound of the mechanical version
Mechanical is greener
para mim o grupo eletrônico serve apenas para o bobo comprar, esperto é o vendedor que fica feliz com o bobo que compra! não muda nada, SOU CICLISTA.

Mechanical all the way
Public vs private school tuition
Manual all day every day.
Buy local, support those who support you.
Mechanical is bettttteerrr
Necro post.. Is wiggle even still about?
I Love old/middle school….. Never has been a need for electronic shifting
New school = marketing
Picked up a Domane with the mechanical 12 spd 105 5 months ago. Beautiful groupset. Very happy. Super smooth.
Bike hacks got a new meaning since wireless systems emerged.

“Here is something you didn’t ask for so we can make even more money off you because this stuff is insanely expensive”
Make mechanical shifting great again! Electronic shifting sux……
As a person who never forgets to charge/change battery I probably have 300 IQ and photographic memory according to electronic shifting haters
