Climate Outreach and More in Common have carried out new research exploring people’s feelings and concerns around climate issues and policy.

Our findings have been released as part of our #BritainTalksClimate toolkit. The toolkit exists to help us better understand and engage with people’s priorities, questions and concerns. It helps us tell clearer, more compelling climate stories that resonate with people of different values and backgrounds.

The webinar covers what Britain Talks Climate is, some new insights from the research and recommendations for communicators.

With thanks to the European Climate Foundation, who funded this research. And to our partners in Scotland (Stop Climate Chaos Scotland and Keep Scotland Beautiful) and Wales (Centre for Alternative Technology and DTA Wales) for their participation in survey design discussions.

  1. Lets advocate for doing way too little, way too slowly, and feel good about it? This is wonderful thoughtful work based on a total misunderstanding of the level, immediacy and momentum of the peril we are in, or the amount of damage already done / locked in, and the global dynamics at work.
Relevant actions are not yet palatable.
This research feels like an interesting snapshot in time, but essentially irrelevant in terms of how things will play out. This seems grounded in where politics and culture are, but unhinged from biophysical reality.
