It’s not a fancy bike but if it’s been well maintained it’s certainly worth $25

  2. That’s a great find for only $25. The Grand Prix was their middle-of-the-road mass-market 10-speed. One step up from the Record, it came with chromed steel rims, cranks, and derailleurs but everything else was alloy. Depending on which factory this one was made in, it may have 26tpi threading for the bottom bracket and headset, so you’ll want to repack them promptly and adjust them well so they don’t wear out. Raleigh had great craftsmanship (albeit sloppy assembly) so their bearing races are very hard, their chrome plating is good, and they ride well. They just have some sloppy construction up close, which is just a charming quirk at this point. All their bikes were basically hand-assembled.
