This is a XT RD-M8000 medium cage shadow derailleur. When on the largest cog this is how close it’ll be to my spokes. Is this a concern? Obviously being ‘shadow’ it’s designed to fit snug to be low profile but I’ve got nothing to compare it too.

No, that looks fine. It might even have to go a bit closer depending on how easily you can get it into the largest cog with this limit.
If it’s not hitting it’s not too close
If you’re forcing the derailleur to the low gear by grabbing the end of the cage, you very well could be bending something that can result in your cage getting jammed into the spokes in the future.
