Bicycle infrastructure throughout the complete country. There is no other country that has that.
I the the Netherlands we speak Dutch and not German.

Those triangles at the ground that point to you with the point, mean that you neat to let the other traffic go first.
You guys are great!
I think German is a hard language, also. We do need rain in Texas.
Typical Dutch day: storm, rain, sunshine. And always headwinds! I hope you enjoyed your stay in the Netherlands! As a dutchie I can appreciate you biking al the way here. I used to do that. Pro tip: use wheel covers because it rains a lot here. Also for the UK: I hope you have electric bikes because itβs verrry hilly (but beautiful)
Amsterdam/Netherlands is biking heaven. Plus, you guys NEED BIKE BELLS :). I don't hear any ding ding when you are by walking pedestrians. π
I love Germany, my bestfriend is there and the people are warm and welcoming but I need to improve my Deutscher! we have a saying when in Denmark: The North Sea, it ain't for whimps! π€£ππ€£π
I'm sad your already leaving the Netherlands so soon, there is so much more beautiful towns to see.

I had fun following you two cycling through the Netherlands.. glad you enjoyed it, i certainly enjoyed the vlogs from the two of you. Whenever you decide to do another Dutch Tour, you're welcome to PM me and i'll show some other Dutch Gems if you like.. hugs
I Hope you guys have a great last bit of the trip in the UK, and come back anytime.
You can have 4 seasons in 1 day here but hey we have the best cycle network in the world so we never stop biking
Netherlands are the way cities should be built. They are so far ahead it's scary.
When I retire, i also wanted to ride a bicycle around the world (if possible).
So the previous weekend we rode across Holland to return home to UK after our 2 week holiday in France. North of Groningen to Emmeloord Almere Leiden Delft and Hoek van Holland into a strong wind on the Friday, stronger on Saturday and full blown gale Sunday! We were camping too. Just a mini tour as we'd left our camper van with relatives to use. After hilly tours in the Highlands and Islands/Wales etc we thought it would be a piece of cake. They don't call them Dutch hills for nothing! "Empty nesters" like yourselves. Dreaming of extended tours and utterly distraught that our EU freedom of travel has disappeared to just 90 days at a time. Beware, you get off the ferry at Harwich, hit potholes on the ferry ramp, no signage/provision for bikes and not even a sign to the railway station. We cheated and took the train home to Bristol. UK cycling is great but you are constantly battling motorised traffic and very poorly maintained roads and rare dedicated infrastructure that even in a "cycling city" like Bristol is totally inadequate and not joined up. Our countryside is fabulous though.
