Sup everyone, got a new job and finally have a disposable income lol. Don’t have my license yet and I don’t want to lug my e-bike around to work so looking to make an urban tracklocross commuter thing, with a gear ratio around 42/17 or 18. And I’ve narrowed to to these 5. Just a note I’ve picked these because there known for having smaller sizes. I’m 5’4 with short legs. My 2011 Se lite 49 didn’t even fit so that’s why I chose these. I’ll put the reason down below
1.FX tracklocross. First off, there made in my home state. And also there a 30 minute drive from my house so I can actually go test ride one. I personally love Poseidon bikes because I own another. And the price goes well too

State. Both state models have cable routing so if I decide to use 2 breaks I at least have the option (not going brakeless anytime soon). Also they’ve been around forever and there new v3 black label I’ve heard good thing about. And there 4130 can hold up for a while

Tsunami. While not as popular in the states. Basically everyone in South Asia uses one so I’ve hear some really good things about it. Also there sizes apparently run on the smaller side so that’s really nice. Also having the difference between chromoly or carbon is really nice. Only downside it gotta be all the way from Taiwan

First of all, if sizing is of concern, I’d go ride that FX for sure. Do they have completes to demo? Ride that, then study the geometry chart, and learn what the numbers mean. This will help alleviate any size anxiety. Learn how to read a geometry chart, figure out which numbers will work for you, and which will not, then start shopping from there. You shouldn’t really be buying a bike you can’t ride without knowing the basics of a geometry chart.
Its also pretty hard for this sub to determine ‘value’ without knowing what components are on the bikes, which we don’t have here.
Personally, especially for a single speed or fixed gear bike, I’d be wanting to build up a frame. I would not be buying a complete. So I think I’d automatically be voting for the Poseidon.
Also, you should consider the Soma Rush. That thing is sweet. Not sure if the tire clearance will work for you though, it can only fir 28mm tires with a brake.
Another thing to consider is a Mash frameset. If you are really after tracklocross, they make some frames with clearance for some huge tires. Also, there sizing is tiny. I really can’t ride those bikes because the stack is just way to low for me, but it would work great for you.
