You can cycle from Deptford in south east London to Camberwell in south London, entirely on quiet streets and protected cycle lanes.

The route is 7km long (4.35 miles) and makes use of Cycleway 10, Cycleway 35, and Cycleway 17, as well as the Brunswick Park LTN.

  1. Hope your son will be out on many more rides to come. You'll need to do videos to parks like Coram's Fields and The Princes of Wales playground in Hyde Park. Both are parents with kids only.

  2. That part under the tunnel with graffiti on the walls is gorgeous!

Would love to see scenic, non-commute routes, the ones where you cycle for sightseein

  3. Great route and video as always! Nice that you had the next generation of influencer along for the ride with you too. Think I might start to sing along on your next ride as well… πŸ˜‚

  4. 7:56 yes, I was just thinking the same today, cycling along here that the sign is in entirely the wrong place. It’s like sign on C14 on Rope st that was pointing entirely the wrong direction for years before they’ve now finally fixed it. I was frustrated as there didn’t seem to be anywhere to report the problem on the TfL website (I found links but they were all broken).

  5. Many, many years ago I had a child seat on my bike that my son sat in, he managed to squeeze into it until he was nearly school age. He often fell asleep and I could always tell when that happened as I would feel a sudden lurch as his head flopped forward…

  6. I do like cycling through that park. It is worth noting though, it is unlit at night so worth bearing that in mind with the dark evenings coming up

  7. YouTube's compression algorithm at 1080p really struggles in scenes with a lot of detail, such as at the beginning of your route where there a lot of trees that turn into a blurry mess. I've heard that if you upscale the video and upload it as 4K, the video gets a lot less choppy because 4K has a much higher bit depth. Or something like that.

  8. Can't help but think that a new overground station would actually be a benefit to Cycleway 10 in the long run, it would presumably come alongside a silly amount of homes also being built, and hopefully that would make this stretch of the cycleway less isolated feeling and busier with foot / bike traffic. But yeah hopefully they find a way to keep it open during construction.

  9. Good route. Hopefully it’s safe to ride around the back of Millwall Stadium again. I used to ride that route often but stopped about almost a year ago due to reports of repeated muggings and bike thefts.

  10. What a beautiful ride for a young kid! No wonder, why he's singing. I would do that myself, if I were in his position. Carry on doing this useful and substantial work for the community at large.
    Greetings from a walker.

  11. I used to live in New Cross, and have walked to Surrey Quays through the paths near The Den… I think I've never felt more scared than walking there on my own with all the 'Beware mugs' signs! Not sure I'd venture there with the bike. But lovely route!
