  2. This bike was not in the plans!

All started with finding an amazing deal on Crux S-Works frame (due to the UDH refresh in 2025 models). Internet didn’t help either as I see tons of people switching from Aethos and not looking back. I decided to move my group set from Aethos with the idea to make the Crux 75% Road – 25% Gravel bike. Moved the Rapide cockpit and Alpinist wheels as well and after few rides I was convinced to sell the Aethos.

Then found another amazing deal on new GRC1400s , only costed couple hundreds out of pocket after selling the Alpinist CLii.

Not in final form yet, as I want to put Pathfinder Pro 47s on the wheels at some point, Ultegra FD has good clearance and seems like I can fit the 47s. And will cut the steerer gradually.

Overall the build was around $5.5k if I purchased everything new. Considering I lost on selling the parts of the Aethos, I could maybe better off looking for a complete build with red and terra clxs, but I look on the bright side as I built this bike myself from frame and had fun doing it.
