Iran just launched a major attack against Israel, they may come to regret it.

Yesterday Iran launched a missile attack against Israel in what they say was in response to the Israeli assassinations of Ismail Haniyeh (Hamas), Hassan Nasrallah (Hezbollah) and Abbas Nilfroshan (IRGC). What we know right now is that about 180 missiles were launched with many intercepted by Israel, the US, UK, Jordan and maybe others. Quite a few did impact inside of Israel and appear to have killed one Palestinian man and a few Israelis were wounded as they tripped on their way to shelters. Iran said they targeted and struck Israeli military bases and to that Israel responded that the effects were minor and their air force was still fully operational. Now we wait to see how Israel responds which may have been what they were hoping for all along. Much like April, there’s a chance Israel just tricked Iran into stepping into the conventional realm where Israel has a significant advantage over Iran.

  1. Irans leaders are hiding for their lives. And leaving their woman and children to die as martyrs and for sympathy from the gullible woke in the west

  2. All sides lie and deceive in war, including Israel, and the U.S. (for example, Biden and Blinken claiming that Israel has not been systematically blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza, despite investigative reports from USAID & State Dept concluding that is exactly what Israel has been doing.)

  3. In my opinion, Iran has shown great restraint over the past few years, surprisingly more than anyone expected. In the last 4-5 years alone, there have been multiple sabotage attacks on Iranian soil. Their scientists were assassinated in their capital, and their military commanders were also assassinated both inside and outside of Iran.

Iran is in what I would call a checkmate situation. Israel with the support of the US has effectively pinned them. If Iran doesn't retaliate, Israel continues to strike. if they do retaliate, Israel still strikes. Iran cannot escalate at the same level that Israel can because of the support Israel receives.

When Iran does retaliate, they are immediately condemned, and new sanctions are imposed and there are real consequences. They receive no practical support, even if their retaliation is justified. Even when they deliberately ensure their retaliatory actions cause minimal damage, which I believe has been their approach so far, they are still criticized.

That said, I believe that if the US, Europe, and the Security Council had stopped Israel's preemptive attacks on Iran over the past 4–5 years, none of this would have happened.

However, if we set aside global reputation, the real cost of these escalations for Israel is not very high, which motivates them to pursue this strategy. Regardless of how this conflict unfolds, Israel emerges as the winner. They have a dominant strategy, and it doesn't matter whether Iran strikes back or not. If Iran doesn't retaliate, Israel can continue its attacks without facing any consequences. if Iran does retaliate, Israel gains even more justification to strike harder, as the US and EU do not recognize Iran's right to respond.

If Iran retaliates forcefully, it could lead to US involvement, which would be potentially devastating for Iran.

If we ignore the human cost of what is happening, and imagine this as a video game, I think any smart player in Israel's position would do exactly what they are doing now. I'm not justifying their actions or the killings, but considering that they have a dominant strategy with little to no risk of consequences, I completely understand why they would not hesitate to escalate.

That's just my view on the conflict itself ignoring all the context around it. Otherwise, I do not support the killings or the deaths of civilians. I do not support the current Israeli government. It wasn’t long ago that the US sent two Navy SEAL teams to Pakistan to kill Osama bin Laden. The US could have easily dropped a bomb, but we took all that risk because the assessment was that a dozen civilians might die if we bombed in an area that was not even densely populated. That’s the level of respect we had for innocent lives. But it seems that we’ve somehow forgotten that. Now, many people don’t even mind when we kill hundreds just to eliminate a single enemy target. So many families will never recover from this.
I have two small kids and it hurt my heart knowing more than 16000 children killed and many times more severely injured or lost family members.

Wrong is wrong no matter who does it. What is happening is wrong. The fact that we are supporting this is also wrong.

  4. Wow.. Iran – when you decide to poke the bear – at least make sure that you have a proper stick. Don't annoy the bear with a little branch. All that you will accomplish is to anger the bear.

  5. Preston, last time Iran gave 3 days advance warning to all israel's dogs including murica. Does that look like they want to hit anything to u?

  6. The framing of the situation is that Israel is defending itself, meaning Israel is not the aggressor but that doesn't square with the reality on the ground. You have a right to defend yourself but you don't have a right to occupy the Palestinians and deny them their basic human rights and then cry foul when they resist. That's not the right to self defense, that's a right to repression. That's what Israel is asking for here; let us do away with these palestinian dissenters and call it defense.

  7. Jews Zionist and America with Arab rulers, all their equipment, military power, intelligence, and diplomacy, is failing to resolve its confrontation with Gaza. Isn't this a blessing from God?

  8. β€œWere there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interest in the region.” -Joe Biden, 1986.
Once you remove all the layers of bullshit and propaganda, Israel exists because the US and the UK(originally) needed a geopolitical foot in the area. Now that the US focus is pivoting away from the ME to Asia, will AIPAC's bribes be enough to keep the US defending it?
