New to the hobby so dnt really know , I know felt don't make MTB bikes anymore and the different parts on it etc aren't top end , maybe an option right now but thinking about a TREK Marlin 6 for like 200

A Marliin isn’t going to be much better as far as “top end” parts. Howecer, the Felt looks to be a decent starter, just like a Marlin would be. I would look at the age of each one and go with the bike that looks and rides better, and hopefully, that bike is newer strictly for the geometry.
Maybe get the Felt and put that other 200 toward a bike upgrade if you decide to stick with it.
