Width of the Nice Rack is more than adequate for a bag attached to the handlebars and resting on the top. If you’re like me and you go out for some Pizza you can also slide a pizza box under the bag without necessarily needing any straps to keep it in place.
I’ve also loaded a flat of soda/drinks (24 cans) which is about 19lbs then put my bag on top. The rack is up to the task of small grocery buys at the Asian market, but if you’re doing a large grocery run a trailer might serve you better.
Nice rack is rated to 70lbs total. Surly’s 24 pack rack is rated to 30lbs.
