Ford RideLondon, the world’s
greatest festival of cycling, returned on Sunday 26 May 2024 – and this section was filmed at Great Waltham village.
To make the event safe and memorable for all, road closures were required in parts of London and Essex.
About Ford RideLondon
Around 25,000 riders took part in three mass participation events
of varying distances on the same route. They set off from Victoria Embankment between 06:00 and 09:30 and travelled through central London into east London and Essex before returning to the capital for a spectacular finish at Tower Bridge.
Ford RideLondon FreeCycle
Cyclists of all ages and abilities were able to explore an eight-mile, traffic-free, central London loop from 10:00 to 15:00.
Everyone was welcome to join in the family-friendly fun!
The world’s best female professional cyclists conpetede in the third and final stage of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Women’s WorldTour race with eight laps on
spectacular seven-mile circuit in central London.
The race was free for spectators to attend and was broadcast live on the BBC.
Host boroughs
In central London, the event took place in the boroughs of Camden, Lambeth, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Westminster, and the City of London.
Showcasing London
This London 2012 Olympic legacy event will once again showcased London on an international level, inspire thousands of people to be active and raise millions of pounds
for charity.
Charity
Participants have raised more than £85 million for charity at the event since it was first held in 2013 and, with your support, we hope to raise even more in 2024.

  1. I was there somewhere but no idea where! My first RideLondon and a great day out. Very sociable and friendly with loads of people cheering on as we went past. Definitely up for it next year.
