To make a change from cycling around in circles, I thought I’d grab my bike and jump on a train, so that I could instead ride an A to B route!

Starting early at Nantwich railway station, 20 miles and one train ride later, I find myself in the sleepy town of Wem. The plan then is to wind my way back to Nantwich, taking in the wonderful Shropshire and Cheshire countryside, with sights including the peaceful Whixall Moss nature reserve and the historic Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker.

But after letting the train take the strain on the way out, will my pedal power alone carry me all the way back to Nantwich?
