Very nice, this is the type of bikes people should get when they need a townie bike. I mean come on, it’s already 30 years old!
Put some more street friendly tires and it will be a little easier to pedal on the street.

Is the chrome for original to that model? Nice either way. Chrome fenders to go with it?
That stem shape is very indicative of the late eighties 1″ MTBs. I just finished servicing a Giant Chinook with the same type of stem, which was a matching blue to the frame.

Arguably their best year for that model, it pre-dates them using plastic and riveted cranks, you get fingertip shifters that are bulletproof and easy to swap the cable on, too. Good on you, OP
