  1. SHOUTING does not equate to the expression fo sincere enthusiasm.
In fact, when contrived, it is the opposite. What an insult to a sport of such beauty.

  2. I agree with others here, his IS the voice of cycling for me. Not only does he liven up the dullest transition stages in a Grand Tour with his funnies, sharp observations and banter with co-commentators, his calling of finishes is second to none in my view. Also, his respect for his co-commentators is clear, Sean Kelly, Brian Smith, Matt Stevens et al all get to have their say without interruptions – unlike another I shan't mention who simply reads through rider names, interrupts experts pointlessly and sucks the life out of every race he's commenting upon…

  3. Iljo Keisse’s win was probably the most nerve wrecking I have ever seen. An extra 50 m and he definitely would have lost the race. Top that with Carlton Kirby stumbling upon his words. Remarkable

  4. Peter sagan just showing himself up hes found space dont seem to exist but hes just there oh my god hes gotta done it again what about that there is only one peter sagan
    -Carlton Kirby

  5. i’ve been watching the tdf for years but can’t stand kirby…and it’s getting worse. i only put up with him because they got all those other awesome commentators

  6. Not to put too fine a point on it but he was excellent when he commentated on DTM and Sports cars at Le Mans too. Really a VERY good commentator.

  7. He’s a fool and pox on cycling.
I can no longer watch anything he commentates on, I have to switch to another language he makes me so angry.
