Looking to upgrade this bike, what will give me the most bang for my buck?

I’d start with some pedals.
Just ride.
If the components are sound but you HAVE to update something, I’d say start with the tires and tubes. Getting a good set of rubber under you, with some TPU inner tubes, can drop weight and help improve the ride. After that, I’d look at a set of lighter wheels. Again, this should help improve the feel of the ride AND make you a bit faster.

Small thing, but I’d upgrade the handlebar tape. You get to see the condition of the handlebar at the same time.
Bargain! Clamp it by the seat tube though, not the frame. Firstly consider the consumables, like chain, cassette, brake pads, bar tape. Do they have life left in them? Possible upgrades: pedals, tyres, wheels, saddle. There’s a few videos on YouTube of how to check a used bike, I’d suggest watching them
I would give it to the local bike store for new shift and brake cables and housings. They can check if all the bearings are ok, too.
Check tires for cracking or wear. Probably replace with something nicer and wider (if possible) regardless of condition. Brake pads if they are older they may be hard. Check the chain for wear with a chain checker tool (like $15 bucks to buy one). All in all just start riding it and see how it feels.
Pedals firstly but also maybe get more puncture resistant tires if you can

Ride it. Make sure it fits and feels good. Then think about upgrading
I’d never heard of these. I’d personally ditch all the white stuff and run as wide tires as the frame can fit. I have an older (older than this) rim brake BMC and it scrubbed up nice with a carbon wheelset. Not recommended if you live anywhere rainy though.

None at all. Put pedals on it and ride it.
Black tape and tyres.
Probably tires and tubes. TPU innertubes are fast and lightweight. A nice set of tires, even something like a Continental ultra sport will be a great upgrade
Don’t clamp the frame clamp the seat post.
Pedals + the biggest tires you can fit in there and then ride it
Leave that thing alone!
Tyres and tubes though… could be a nice comfort upgrade. £30 per tyre can get awesome tyres from Michelin (just like Specialized xc tyres!)
I’m using
* Michelin power cup on my aero bike
*Michelin pro4 endurance on my alloy bike
I have Amazon-specials lightweight TPU (the pink ones ;)) inner tubes in the power cup and Michelin ultralight butyl on the alloy pro4 endurance. Only reason was £25 for two tpu and already had the butyl lying spare. The spares are a LOT smaller and there’s only a couple of stickers and wipes as a repair kit.
Though, the pro4 endurance has an anti puncture in the middle or I’d also go tpu too. The Michelin 25c come out at 28 wide 25 mm high. Nice matched with tpu and 70 psi (70 kg rider).
Super supple; one of the faster rollers on the online rolling tests, £30 per tyre. And… the tpu give this weird springy but supple damped comfortable feel.
Where do you find stuff like this for $100? 😮
