In my brakeless riding days (sadly behind me for now) i got into the habit of seeking out ANY skate shoes that were drastically reduced and as cheap as chips.
I don't care what they look like I just want the cheapest possible shoes to grind into dust whilst riding brakeless.
One pair I bought cost me £/$15 from a skateboard shop going out of business…
DC Shoes Manteca "4" hi. They are vegan. I think the uppers are recycled plastics. I have no idea what the 4 means.
They are surprisingly good shoes. They are really comfortable, very sturdy, extremely damage resistant and being plastic… totally waterproof. Sure, they look like they came from the costume department of Beverley Hills Cop, but they just don't seem to be aging at all.
The sole tread isn't designed for stud pedals, but they seem to grip okay for the mild bit of street noodling I do at the moment.
These are good shoes. Tell me I'm wrong!

I used to get Manteca low tops when I was in high school in early 2000’s, was a fan! Now I use NB 306’s and Nike SB Force 58’s.
